    ANNIE PENN COMMUNITY TRUST - Grant Application Guidelines

The following is provided as assistance in applying for a grant from the Annie Penn Community Trust. This information is not provided as a tutorial for writing grant applications, but as general information about the funding areas, procedures and forms utilized by the Annie Penn Community Trust.

1- The Trust will fund grants only for the benefit of the citizens of Rockingham County.
Organizations from outside the county may apply, but the funds must be used entirely for the benefit of people in Rockingham County.

2- Grant funds will be approved only for organizations listed in the
Who Can Apply section of this web site. No individuals may apply.

3- The
Grantmaking Policy should be reviewed to determine if the project or program fits the funding priorities of the Trust.

4- Review the
Application Deadlines on this web site to see when forms should be submitted.

5- A Letter of Interest form is available on this web site as well as a sample form that contains instructional information. This form should be filled out completely and the proper signatures provided. Original signatures must be provided as described on the signature page. If the form is altered, it will not be accepted.

6- For 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) organizations, a copy of the federal tax exemption letter must be attached to the completed form even if the letter has been submitted with earlier applications or letters of interest.

7- The Trust Board will determine from the Letter of Interest if the application is complete, if it is a qualified organization, and if the project or program fits the funding guidelines used by the Trust. If the letter is approved, you will be notified that you can submit a grant application by the application due date.

8- The grant application form is available on this web site as well as a sample form that contains instructional information. This form should be filled out completely and proper signatures provided. Original signatures of the individuals described on the signature page must be provided. If the grant application form is altered, it will not be accepted.

9- For 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) organizations, a copy of the federal tax exemption letter must be attached to the completed form even if this information was provided with the Letter of Interest.

10-The most recent three years of financial information should be provided as described on the application form. Applications for funding of $40,000 or more must include full audit reports, performed by a CPA. The entire audit should be included, not selected pages.

11-
Letter of Interest forms and Grant Application forms must be postmarked by the due date as shown in the “Application Deadlines” section of this web site or be delivered in person to a staff member of the APCT.

12-Letter of Interest forms and Grant Application forms must be complete, must not be on altered forms, and must contain the proper signatures and must meet the target dates. Failure to meet these qualifications will result in your application not being considered by the Annie Penn Community Trust.
