–Who is eligible to apply for a grant from the Annie Penn Community Trust?
A – To be eligible to apply for a grant from the Trust, an applicant must be either:
(1)-A public charity as described under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal
Revenue Code of 1986.
(2)-A governmental unit that is applying for grant funds solely for public
purposes.
(3)-A public institution that is applying for grant funds solely for public
purposes.

– What are the application deadlines for the Trust?
A –
The Trust conducts two grant cycles each fiscal year. Letter of Interest deadlines are
August
15 and February 15. Grant application deadlines are
October 15 and April 15.

A –
Yes. In fact, the Trust places priority on projects that involve collaboration between
two or more organizations.

A – Yes. Grants may be awarded for equipment purchases or for
construction.

A –
No, unless you have questions about funding guidelines or the application process.

- Will the Trust fund grants for more than one year?
A –
The Trust will consider funding programs/projects for up to three years. However, the second and third years of funding are contingent upon satisfactory results or progress
in the previous year of funding.

- How do I submit an application for a grant?
A –
The process begins with the submission of a Letter of Interest form. This form is
available on the Trust web site or by calling the Trust office at
634-1669. Application
forms can be obtained in the same manner.

- Do you fund general operating costs of organizations?
A –
The Trust considers itself primarily as a funding source for new programs, as well as a catalyst for their development and long-term viability. However, the Trust may consider funding for ongoing operations.
Q - Can an organization receive grants more than once from the Trust?
A
– The Trust has set no limit on the number of grants an organization can
receive. However, the Trust does not generally provide ongoing support for a program or project.

– If you are unsure of how to proceed with the application process, call the Trust office
at 634-1669. A staff member will explain the process to you and go over the information that is required, but will not assist you with the preparation.
